Who we are

That’s the Way of the World Stage Play consist of a theatrical cast of 15. We are a traveling theatrical production company founded in November of 2013 in Houston, TX. Our first production was at the Wortham Theatre, located in Houston, TX, on March 27th, 2015. The cast and crew received overwhelmingly positive reviews from patrons who attended the show. That’s the Way of the World Stage Play is theatre set in 1974, in a small town in East, Texas, but content is relative to current events of today. A romantic-comedy, with a “Twist” of tragedy stage play, in two acts.

Why – That’s the Way of the World

Overview

That’s the Way of the World, a stage play in 2 Acts, is a romantic-comedy that takes place in Jasper, Texas in 1974. A naïve young lady falls deeply in love with a city-slicker bad boy who has just moved back to this small town to finish his senior year of high school. Oh, if only the love she had for this charismatic young man was as romantic as it sounded. She eventually discovers, in her quest to find true love through him, that the World’s view of love is not always true love.

Terri's Vision

My vision and hope is that the tone and depth of this dialogue play, which I feel is a message play from God about the sinful nature of man, is for the audience to see an unflattering image of an unjust World (that God sees) through the life of an innocent teenager in love. Hopefully the audience will be captivated by the unloving, cold-hearted, unruly and dysfunctional, religious human-being in a mirrored reflection that too often lives within us. That’s the Way of the World, the stage play, speaks that sometimes there may not be a second chance through the unjust but always through God (Luke 18: 1-8). Terri L. Watts, Playwright
