Alexius Rayford-Wade is originally from southern California. She took her first acting classes at the age of twelve. Shortly thereafter, Alexius and her family moved to Houston. Upon graduating with honors from high school, she decided to continue her education by obtaining a degree in film and television production from Houston Community College. She went on to work with South Coast Films and Videos and had the opportunity to work with media professionals, producing commercials, short films, and corporate videos. In addition, Alexius took it upon herself to learn every area of production, including stage production. From boom op, grip, and teleprompter, touch-up artist, set design, costume design, production assistant, stage manager, sound tech, and producer. She began to produce and book live events and booking musicians at venues in the Houston area. During that time, Alexius begin hosting her first radio show on KPFT 90.1 called Open Talk with Trinitie. The program educated young adults about abstinence and showed the statistics on misguided life decisions. Later, Alexius organized events for the Texas Film Commission Alliance and eventually created Trinitie Productions to produce and support future filmmakers and stage producers. That’s the Way of the World has not only given Alexius an opportunity to hone her craft, but to have a deeper understanding of the adolescent teen. This stage play gives a voice and awareness to the untold. Thank you, Terri Watts!
